Sweet dream, please do come true

Pernah gak sih mimpi indaaaah banget sampe ga rela rasanya buat bangun?

Last night, gue ngalamin itu semua.

Gue mimpi nonton konser. Konsernya bukan sembarang konser, konser Radiohead men!

Dafuq. Terus karena dia tau gue ngefans abis sama Radiohead, dia pun ngajakin gue buat nemenin dia. My oh my.

Teuing tah ngobrol naon -__-
*sigh*

On the wall

I really love to spice up the wall with wall arts such as posters, paintings, photos, magazine pages.... just anything that can make the pale boring wall become colorful and artsy (in some kinda way haha). I also like the idea to create a "wall of fame" where you can stick anything that so memorable to you. It's like making a scrapbook on the wall hmm..scrapwall it is heheh.
Sooo..before I do my own wall, here are some inspirations I collected from Pinterest. Do follow my pinterest by clicking here :)
And from all of those beautiful inspirations, I can sum up the "rules" to make your walls stand out:

  1. Chose a theme that really suit you.
  2. Don't go monotone, like, all photos or all magazines pages. Go mix them up.
  3. The more the merrier. Use frames with different sizes and styles, add more pictures, add a unique shaped mirror, add cute plates, add writings here and there. Or, if you wanna keep it simple and clean, choose a giant wall art to make a "statement" of the whole room. Like say, vintage photo of your grandparents wedding or your favorite movie poster.
  4. "Informative" not only decorative. You can stick beautiful printed recipes, vintage map, chemical periodic table of the elements, or even your study materials.
  5. Last but not least, be creative, stick anything you want (as long as it has aesthetics to your sight). If you have less budget to buy pretty frames, you can make a DIY frames by painting it on the wall with stencil or you can just stick the wall stickers/wall decals in frame shapes heheh.

PS: All pics are not mine. I found them on pinterest. All credit goes to the appropriate owners.

Write your story

Is there anyone here wanted to be a writer?
Well I think every bookworms (or at least those who likes to read a lot) secretly wanted to be a writer too. I mean, by reading those books and find the fact that we can enter the whole new world just by reading a story, our mind can be intrigued by the desire to make our own story too. Am I right or am I right? Oh, the lack of drama in the real life also somehow pushes someone to become a writer. I mean, we can do anything with our characters, our plot, we can write a story about our own life and do anything to our main character (which is yourself hehe).
But what it takes to become a writer? Here I re-post an article from rookiemag.com (that site is soooo addictive and informative at the same time) called Ten Rules for Writers by Etgar Keret (he's an Israeli famous writer btw). There are no exact rules to be a writers I know, because all we have to do is just put our heart in writing and let the imagination running wild (well ok, some research may needed here and there), but these ten rules from Etgar Keret might come in handy.
1. Make sure you enjoy writing.
Writers always like to say how hard the writing process is and how much suffering it causes. They’re lying. People don’t like to admit they make a living from something they genuinely enjoy.
Writing is a way to live another life. Many other lives. The lives of countless people whom you’ve never been, but who are completely you. Every time you sit down and face a page and try—even if you don’t succeed—be grateful for the opportunity to expand the scope of your life. It’s fun. It’s groovy. It’s dandy. And don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
2. Love your characters.
For a character to be real, there has to be at least one person in this world capable of loving it and understanding it, whether they like what the character does or not. You’re the mother and the father of the characters you create. If you can’t love them, nobody can.
3. When you’re writing, you don’t owe anything to anyone.
In real life, if you don’t behave yourself, you’ll wind up in jail or in an institution, but in writing, anything goes. If there’s a character in your story who appeals to you, kiss it. If there’s a carpet in your story that you hate, set fire to it right in the middle of the living room. When it comes to writing, you can destroy entire planets and eradicate whole civilizations with the click of a key, and an hour later, when the old lady from the floor below sees you in the hallway, she’ll still say hello.
4. Always start from the middle.
The beginning is like the scorched edge of a cake that’s touched the cake pan. You may need it just to get going, but it isn’t really edible.
5. Try not to know how it ends.
Curiosity is a powerful force. Don’t let go of it. When you’re about to write a story or a chapter, take control of the situation and of your characters’ motives, but always let yourself be surprised by the twists in the plot.
6. Don’t use anything just because “that’s how it always is.”
Paragraphing, quotation marks, characters that still go by the same name even though you’ve turned the page: all those are just conventions that exist to serve you. If they don’t work, forget about them. The fact that a particular rule applies in every book you’ve ever read doesn’t mean it has to apply in your book too.
7. Write like yourself.
If you try to write like Nabokov, there will always be at least one person (whose name is Nabokov) who’ll do it better than you. But when it comes to writing the way you do, you’ll always be the world champion at being yourself.
8. Make sure you’re all alone in the room when you write.
Even if writing in cafés sounds romantic, having other people around you is likely to make you conform, whether you realize it or not. When there’s nobody around, you can talk to yourself or pick your nose without even being aware of it. Writing can be a kind of nose-picking, and when there are people around, the task may become less natural.
9. Let people who like what you write encourage you.
And try to ignore all the others. Whatever you’ve written is simply not for them. Never mind. There are plenty of other writers in the world. If they look hard enough, they’re bound to find one who meets their expectations.
10. Hear what everyone has to say but don’t listen to anyone (except me).
Writing is the most private territory in the world. Just as nobody can really teach you how you like your coffee, so nobody can really teach you how to write. If someone gives you a piece of advice that sounds right and feels right, use it. If someone gives you a piece of advice that sounds right and feels wrong, don’t waste so much as a single second on it. It may be fine for someone else, but not for you.
PS: This post is especially dedicated to my friends Vie and Dnd who share the same dream to become a novel writer. Well, you already made your first step, I read your stories and they're not bad. You go girls! :)

HBD Bandung

Jalan Braga, then.

Dirgahayu ke 202 dear my beautiful city, Bandung.

Hahaha.

Yah, apapun deh. Pokoknya sekali lagi, Dirgahayu Bandung. May Allah always bless this city and its people :)

Editors, finally :D

I can’t believe it, I liked this band (esp for their song, Munich) for ages and I barely know their look..haha. I once posted that fact on Path and this friend of mine was just like, “youtube dong” I know, in this internet era, everything is just one click away. But I just kinda like to enjoyed their songs without really knowing how they look like (same like The Temper Trap case before I finally googled them). Today, giving up to my curiosity, I finally looked up for Editors’ music video a few minutes ago through youtube and I kinda…pleased. I mean, once again I got fooled by how the band sound and how they look. At first I thought they were from Germany (cause of the song title.. pffft) or somewhere else in Europe… guess I’m wrong because it’s England where they come from, okay it’s quite close since it still in Europe lol. And the singer! I can’t believe it. In my mind, I imagine the singer would look like Kaiser Chiefs’ singer or even like the guy from Kings of Leon. But then again I’m surprised cause actually he looks like this:

I mean, how can that icy, deep voice come from this skinny guy? :D

Oh, and his name is Tom, Tom Smith. Cool.. but why are there so many frontmen with the first name Tom? Tom Delonge, Tom Powers, Thom Yorke, and now Tom Smith? Haha. The different is, Tom Smith has a unique and deep voice (which is sexy to me). His vocal range is baritone, the kinda voice you can expect to hear from a mature man with beard and suit. Or, from the jazz singer like Louis Armstrong (what a wonderful world). His vocal style has been compared to that of post-punk singers such as Ian Curtis of Joy DivisionPaul Banks of InterpolRobert Smith of The Cure and Michael Stipe of R.E.M.. But Tom is Tom. He can sing very well in the live shows and not many singers can do that I think ;p

The former Editors line up consisted of Tom Smith, Chris Urbanowicz, Russel Leetch and Edward Lay. Unfortunately, Chris left the group in April 2012 and his position replaced by two new members: Justin Lockey and Elliot Williams.
According to Daily Mail UK, Editors are the second biggest British band of the decade behind the Arctic Monkeys: Their debut album, The Back Room, sold more than 500,000 copies. They were also nominated for Best British Group in the 2008 Brit Award.
Editors discography:
  • The Back Room (2005)
  • An End has a Start (2007)
  • In This Light and On This Evening (2009)
“We put our hearts and souls into a song and to have it used as a tool to make money for something else is sickening.”

We are accident, waiting to happen

Radiohead - "There There"
The video for Radiohead's "There There" was inspired by Bagpuss, a British TV show for children. It features frontman Thom Yorke in a forest, where he is stunned to encounter woodland creatures engaged in activities he never expected to see in species other than human beings.

In 2003, "There There" won Best Art Direction in a Video at the MTV Video Music Awards.
source: here

There There adalah single pertama dari album Hail to the Thief yang dirilis pada tahun 2003. Waktu itu gue masih 13 tahun. Seorang abg kelas 1 SMP yang sangat tergila-gila sama MTV. Anak nongkrong MTV banget lah haha. Gue inget banget waktu itu MTV membuat Radiohead sebagai artist of the month or something like that..I forgot, it was long, long time ago.. Awalnya sempet rada aneh gitu sih. Ini band apaan sih? Lagunya aneh, video klipnya aneh. Eeeeh namanya juga gak kalah aneh. Kepala Radio, apa itu? Haha. Tapi ya itulah, dari benci suka berubah jadi cinta.
Sampai sekarang Radiohead adalah salah satu band favorit gue :)
I love them. So freaking much. Gue bisa merinding semerinding-merindingnya kalo lagi nonton video live mereka. Apalagi yang From The Basement yang In Rainbows. It's just so....magical.
Well, let's just pray, wait and see then.

A Mycroft Post

Mungkin ada beberapa orang yang kaget pas melihat kemunculan aktor bertubuh tambun di film Sherlock Holmes: A Games of Shadow yang “mengaku” sebagai kakak laki-laki dari Sherlock yang bernama Mycroft. What the hell Sherlock punya kakak kaya gitu? Apalagi disana tiba-tiba ada adegan toplessnya juga. Doh Hollywood, Hollywood, why you’re always ruining my imagination -__-
Well, pas pertama kali baca The Greek Interpreter gue juga kaget pas tiba-tiba Sherlock menyebut-nyebut nama kakaknya, Mycroft. Soalnya dari awal cerita, tak pernah satupun dari keluarga Holmes pernah disebut-sebut sebelumnya. Gak cuma gue sih, si Dr. Watson juga kaget ”.. I had to believe that he was an orphan with no relatives living, but one day, to my very great surprise, he began to talk to me about his brother.”
Di novelnya, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle menceritakan bahwa Mycroft berusia 7 tahun lebih tua dari Sherlock, which means he was born in 1847 (Sherlock was born in 1854); bertubuh gemuk; berotak lebih cemerlang dari Sherlock namun tidak punya ambisi dan energi untuk jadi crime investigator like his brother; jadi salah satu pendiri Diogenes Club, where he spent most of his time; dan bekerja sebagai books auditor for some British government departments.
Later on, sehubungan dengan pekerjaannya itu, peran Mycroft di pemerintahan Inggris ternyata jauh lebih substansial daripada hanya sekedar ‘audit books’, Sherlock once said ”Occasionally he is the British government…the most indispensable man in the country.
Peran penting Mycroft di pemerintahan Inggris pun disinggung-singgung dalam versi modern Sherlock buatan BBC. Di A Scandal in Belgravia, dimana Sherlock dibawa paksa ke Buckingham Palace cuma dengan selembar seprei melilit tubuhnya *ahem* tiba-tiba Mycroft udah ada disana dan act casually like he’s the owner of the place haha. Turns out, he is also a British Secret Service in his “free time”.
“I worry about him. Constantly.”Aww..aww :3
M: ” This petty feud between us is simply childish. People will suffer..and you know how it always upset Mummy.”
S: “I upset her? Me? It wasn’t me that upset her, Mycroft”
What a deep question, Sherlock
And here’s Mycroft’s answer. Duh.
Ha! Bisa aja deh situ..
Mycroft Holmes as portrayed by Mark Gatiss. Like a boss indeed!
Another pic of Stephen Fry. Mirip, mirip.
The Mycroft Holmes Society of Syracuse.
Bahkan Hercule Poirot sendiri mengatakan “Don’t you know that every detective has a brother who is smarter but less practical than himself?” Haha! Both Holmes brothers are mentioned again in The Labors Of Hercules, in which one of Poirot’s friends teases him about his unusual Christian name. He jokes that Mrs. Poirot and Mrs. Holmes must have collaborated when naming their sons. :)
Selain itu, kisah Mycroft - Sherlock pun menjadi salah satu inspirasi dari plot sebuah serial tv detektif Amerika, Monk. Disana Adrian Monk diceritakan punya kakak bernama Ambrose yang seperti halnya Mycroft, lebih pintar dari diri Adrian namun mempunyai less willing to investigate lantaran mengidap agoraphobic.

Rockafelt continued..

Yes, peeps! I'm continuing my felt project. Turned out, it's so fun to create something cute and functional out of simple materials :)
Here they are, the newest family member of Rockafelt

Say hello to Mochu, the pink monkey!
Actually I got the design of this monkey from a website called craftpassion.com, but the monkey was not a felt craft over there. Of course I customize it here and there as usual. So far this is my favorite one. It's just so cute huh?
My bro helped me find an unused ring and made it into a keychain. I used it as a bag charm though ;p

Don't fold your book please. Use this leave bookmark instead :)
You can't see the back in this photo, but it made from a baby green colored felt.

Another Keep Calm pin cushion?
Yes it is! I removed the mustache this time because it's so freakin' hard to make :(

Well, this is it. The Rockafelt family. I'm considering adding some more. I have ideas in mind and a handy book, just need a little more time.
What? Busy? Pfft you gotta kidding me! Hahah
Oh, well yes I'm an unemployment. But I considered myself as a busy unemployment heheh. I mean, Idul Fitri is coming in days. Soooo excited!!

Super recommended album of the year!

The Temper Trap self titled.
Lagu-lagunya semua enaaaaak.
Memang singlenya bikin kecele sih, karena ironisnya menurut gue Need Your Love agak lemah kalau dijadikan single pertama.
Man oh man, I love this band so much.
What a great comeback guys!

Track by track The Temper Trap:

Jaded

Hey j-j-jaded, you got your mama's style
But you're yesterday's child to me
So jaded
You think that's where it's at
But is that where it's supposed to be
You're gettin' it all over me and serrated

My, my baby blue
Yeah I been thinkin' about you
My, my baby blue
Yeah you're so jaded
And I'm the one that jaded you

Hey j-j-jaded
In all it's misery
It will always be what I love and hated
And maybe take a ride to the other side
We're thinkin' of
We'll slip into the velvet glove
And be jaded

My, my baby blue
Yeah I'm thinkin' about you
My, my baby blue
Yeah, I'm so jaded
And baby I'm afraid of you

Your thinking's so complicated
I've had it all up to here
But it's so overrated
Love and hated
Wouldn't trade it
Love me jaded

Hey j-j-jaded
There ain't no baby please
When I'm shootin' the breeze with her
When everything you see is a blur
And ectasy's what you prefer

My, my baby blue
Yeah I'm talkin' about you
My, my baby blue
Yeah I've been thinkin' about you
My, my baby blue
Yeah you're so jaded
Baby
Jaded
Baby
You're so jaded
'Cause I'm the one that jaded you

You gotta be kidding me if you don't know this song. I absolutely love "Jaded" since the first time I saw the video on MTV, long long time ago...
And you know what? There's Mila Kunis in it! She's the girl who played the..uh.. jaded girl. She's way younger yet really pretty. It's like Dian Sastro in "Jadikan Aku Pacarmu" all over again haha. (if you know what I mean). The video itself tells a story of a girl who has lost the ability to feel due to losing touch with reality.

Mustache attack!

What's with mustache? Why suddenly it's mustache everywhere?
Gosh, sometimes the internet scares the hell out of me <-- lebay
Anyhow, I don't feel like I hate this trend. I mean, mustache never been as cute as nowadays. I have a mustache ring too, and I love it :)
Here are some pictures of mustaches I found on the internet.

See? It's everywhere. Mustache has touch everything. From t-shirt to mugs, from jewelry to nail art, from shoes to cookies..haha.
And this is my favorite mustache thingy picture I found on the internet:

The diy mustache stamp! Made from a pencil eraser..brilliant!

The rings above is similar with mine but I would like to have one like this:

So...have you been mustached too?
